Obituary - Irene Turcotte

Forest Hill, MD - Irene (Routhier) Turcotte, 96, formerly of Dracut, died Sunday May 7, after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late George Turcotte who died in January, 1970.
Born in Canada on August 5, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Pierre and Alexina (Bessette) Routhier.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a circuit board assembler at Western Electric. Following her retirement she was a foster grandparent with the CTI program in Dracut. While residing in Dracut she was a communicant of Ste. Therese Church and a member of the Ladies Guild there for many years. Mrs. Turcotte was also a former member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club be fore moving to Maryland to live with her daughter.
Surviving her a three sons and daughters in law, Rene J. and Dorothy Turcotte of Lowell, Maurice E. (Colonel USAF, Ret.) and Esther Turcotte, Paul (Colonel US Army, Ret.) and Maryann Turcotte, all of Haymarket, VA; a daughter and son in law, Lucy and Augustine "Gus" Fitzgerald of Forest Hill, MD with whom she resided; a brother, Valerien Routhier of Stanstead, Canada; two sisters, Estelle Guay of Sherbrooke Canda, Alice Gaulin of Stanstead, Canada; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leonard Routhier, Yvonne Bouffard, Sr. Valeda Routhier, Louise Routhier, Matthew Routhier, Wilbrod Routhier, Julienne Fauteux, Leonie Routhier, and Denis Routhier.
