Irene (Sauvageau) Pelletier, 95, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died August 21, 2005 in a local nursing home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Albert Pelletier.
Born in Lowell on October 13, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Florence (Lamoureux)Sauvageau. She was educated in Lowell schools and was a communicant of Ste Jeanne d'Arc Church. Prior to her retirement, she was a stitcher at Grace Shoe and other local shoe manufacturers.
Mrs. Pelletier was a member of the Catholic Association of Foresters and the Golden Age Club of Lowell. She took pride in living alone at the age of 95 before her illness forced her to nursing home care.
Surviving her are several nieces and nephews among whom are Alfred Sauvageau of Roswell, GA, Roger and Rita Cote of Dracut, and Paul and Rachel Gamache of Lowell; a best friend, Evelyn Ferron of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Ernest Sauvageau.
