Irene B. (Briere) (Kiernan) Lepine, a Dracut resident and wife of the late Harvey F. Lepine and John Camacho died on October 8, 2014 with her family by her side. She was 89.
Born in Lowell on June 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Brabant) Briere.
Irene was a communicant of St. Michael Church, and was a volunteer and contributer to many charities and local causes including, the Mary Knoll Sisters, Franco American Bread Fund, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Irene's family recalls her compassion to people in need, whether it was a hot meal or roof over their head for a night or two, she was always there.
She was a member of the Democratic National Committee, and was an active volunteer campaigning for former President Bill Clinton.
Irene loved the beach and vacationing at Hampton Beach. She enjoyed playing bingo. Most of all Irene cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren as all of them were paramount to them.
Irene's family would like to thank Dr. Louis Bresnick and the staff at Heritage Skilled Nursing, especially Dee Dee Bebris for the exceptional care given to her during her stay there.
Survivors include her five children, Patricia Correia of Pelham, NH, Harvey Lepine, Jr., Dennis Lepine, Carol Lavigne and her husband Paul, Debra Montbleau all of Lowell; thirteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; her best friend Yvonne Mason of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert Kiernan, grandmother of the late George "Buddy" King, sister of the late Edward Briere and Lillian Wiegmann and former wife of the late Edward Kiernan.
