Irene C. (Briere) Laffey

Irene C. (Briere) Laffey, 93, a lifelong Lowell resident died Monday July 1, 2013 at D'Youville Senior Care. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Laffey.
Born in Lowell on July 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Edouard and Alma (Boivin) Briere.
For many years, Irene worked as a food service manager for the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.
Irene was an avid bingo player and St. Jude supporter.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert F.J. Laffey and is survived by her four grandchildren, Sherri Sarrouf, Kelly Homsey, Christopher Laffey, Heather Cahloux; nine great grandchildren, Stephen Sarrouf, Elizabeth Sarrouf, John Homsey, Madison Homsey, Cameron Homsey, Sean Laffey, Charlotte Laffey, Avery Chaloux; her Godchild, Priscilla (Letourneau) McDonough and her husband, Mark; several nieces and nephews including Kristy and Shalah McDonough. She was the sister of the late Lillian Patrick.
