Irene B. (Hall) Dufault, beloved wife of the late James E. Dufault, formerly of Lowell, passed away at her Dracut residence on Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was 99 years old.
Born in Saco, Maine on April 21, 1918, Irene was oldest and last of eleven children born to Simeon and Bernadette (Boisvert) Hall.
She was educated in the Lowell schools, and for many years worked as an assembler for the Honeywell Corporation.
Irene received her passion for the beach early on. As a child Irene's family built and rented many cottages at Salisbury Beach, where she would spend every summer.
She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.
A generous person who was warm and caring, Irene never went to the family dinners empty handed. She always brought something. Irene was always thoughtful to the people who were there for her.
Irene was a communicant at St. Rita Church and more recently at St. Francis Parish in Dracut. She was a Eucharistic minister well into her 90's and would visit Heritage Nursing Home, D'Youville Senior Care, and Northwood Nursing Home every Sunday to bring communion to those who could not attend Mass.
