Irene E. (Boucher) Cyr, age 84, died Monday, August 13, 2007 after a lengthy illness. For the past year she resided at Wingate nursing Home, Lowell and for several years prior she lived at Jaycee Place, Lowell. She was the wife of Edgar "Eddie" Cyr who died in 1981.
She was born in Dracut on December 29, 1922, the daughter of the late Nestor and Angeline (Plourde) Boucher. She lived in Lowell most of her life and worked at Suffolk Knitting Co., Hub Hosiery Co., Honeywell and Sanders Assoc. in her earlier years. She retired at age 60 and spent happy days caring for her granddaughters.
She was a parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Parish for many years.
Irene is survived by her son, Paul R. Cyr and his wife Shirley (Clark) Cyr of Lowell; her granddaughters, Kristine Goodwin and her husband Bruce of Holden and Rebecca Fayed and her husband Ramy of Bethesda, MD; she leaves four great grandsons, Kyle, Jared and Noah Goodwin of Holden and Zachary Fayed of Bethesda, MD; she also leaves her brother Raymond Boucher of Lowell and her sister, Florence (Boucher) Eliacopoulos of Tyngsboro; also several nieces and nephews. She was the 5th of 8 children, pre-deceased by her sister Claire (Boucher) Chennell and 4 brothers, Leo, Robert, Albert and Wilfred Boucher.
