LOWELL - Irene B. (Letendre) Carbonneau, age 94, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred C. Carbonneau, who died in 1982.
She was born in Lowell on January 1, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Pierre and Hedwidge (Lanseigne) Letendre.
Prior to her retirement, Irene was employed for 17 years as a nursing assistant at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.
She loved music and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Irene is survived by a son, Raymond Carbonneau of Lowell; three daughters, Cecile Hall and her husband Arthur of Hudson, NH, Doris Bellemare of Chelmsford, and Priscilla Vachon and her husband David of Hudson, NH; two brothers, Gerard Letendre of Lowell and Armand Letendre and his wife Jeannette of Nashua, NH; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Alfred Carbonneau, Jr., Gerard Carbonneau, and Yvonne Lannan and the sister of the late Wilfred Letendre, Exilia Bastien, and Yvonne McKennin.
ARRANGEMENTS - It being her request, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Northwood Rehab and Healthcare Center, 1010 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
