Hilaire Bolduc, a Dracut resident and beloved husband of Mary Alice (Lessard) Bolduc with whom he celebrated their 67 anniversary in August passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021, surrounded by his family at Lowell General Hospital. He was 90 years old.
Born in St. Victor de Beauce, P.Q., Canada on July 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Poulin) Bolduc.
As a youngster, Hilaire grew up on a family farm in Canada and later worked as a Lumberjack and truck driver until he moved his family to Lowell, MA, in 1962. It was here that he took up the plumbing trade and took classes at night to learn English and the plumbing code so he could get licensed. After obtaining his plumbing and gas fitters licenses, he began his own business in 1970 and operated it until he retired and passed it on to his sons, who still run it today. He cherished the time that he was able to work side by side with them and enjoyed the many coffee brakes they shared, which continued to this day.
Hilaire and his wife enjoyed traveling by car so they could see and meet people along the way. No boats, trains or planes could take the fun out of being able to just throw the suitcases in the car and go. Poor Mary Alice always had to have the suitcases ready.
But, he would say that his biggest accomplishment was his family. He loved his wife and was so proud of his sons. What he loved was his family being together and enjoying that precious time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five sons and their spouses, Richard J. and Diane Bolduc of Dracut, MA, Gerard J. and Cathleen Bolduc of Nashua, NH, Denis J. and Louise Bolduc of Hooksett, NH, Michel L. and Susan Bolduc of Dracut, MA, Steven V. and Kristeen Bolduc of Pepperell, MA, and a brother, Emery Bolduc of Sherbrook, P.Q. Canada.
He had 10 grandchildren, Jason Bolduc, Robert Bolduc, Philip Bolduc, Jessica Bolduc, Joshua Bolduc, Andrew Bolduc, Emily Bolduc, Scott Geoffroy, Alexis Bolduc and Curtis Bolduc.
He also had 5 great grandchildren, Cole Bolduc, Emma Bolduc, Julian Bolduc, Alissandra Bolduc and Emma Susan Kelly.
He was the brother of the late Alcide Bolduc, Roland, Bolduc, Jean-Paul Bolduc, Valere Bolduc and Lionel Bolduc, Lucienne Bolduc, Bibiane Dion, Carmen Veilleux and Gilberte Boulanger.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to Hilaire's Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday morning at 9 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church, 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
