LOWELL - Henry W. Naruszewicz, a long time Lowell resident, passed away at the age of 106 on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Stella A. (Kasprzyk) Naruszewicz.
Born in Salem, NH on January 3, 1916, he was a son of the late Walter and Mary (Szymanowska) Naruszewicz.
Henry was a graduate of Johnson High School which was located in North Andover.
A Bronze Star Recipient, Henry served with George Patton’s 3rd Army during World War II and was a participant of the battle of the Bulge. Henry was recognized by the French Government with the French Medal of Honor and took the Honor Flight to Washington, DC where he visited the World War II Memorial. He was also mentioned in the book “The Rifle” written by Andrew Biggio written about World War II heroes. He was a life member of the Dracut American Legion, Post 315 and was nominated a Veteran of the Quarter for the City of Lowell.
Henry was the oldest Parishioner of the Holy Trinity Polish Church where he belonged since 1940. He was awarded with the key to the City of Lowell on two separate occasions.
Henry was an auto enthusiast, he also golfed into his late 90’s and enjoyed gardening into his 100’s.
Most important to Henry was time spent with his loving family, who will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Dorothy A. and William T. Flanagan of Lowell; a sister, Joan Cameron of Evans, GA; two granddaughters and their husbands, Corinne and Frank Corbin of Tewksbury and Jennifer and Paul Pintal of Dracut; a great grandson, Andrew Corbin of Tewksbury; also several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Edward and Harry Norris, Mary Brosch, Alice Holt, Julia Wojtach, Patricia Brenk, Irene Nial and Francesca Nolet.
Relatives and friends ate invited to Henry’s Visitation on Thursday, from 4 until 7 PM at the Holy Trinity Polish Church, 340 High Street. His Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday Morning at 10 AM in the Holy Trinity Polish Church. Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the Holy Trinity Polish Church. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildeth St., Lowell.
