Henry J. "Hank" Tousignant

DRACUT - Henry “Hank” Tousignant, age 72, a longtime resident of Dracut died Thursday, November 16, 2023 following a long courageous battle with cancer.He was the beloved husband of Susan (Rudderham) Tousignant, to whom he was married for 34 years.  

He was born in Lowell on June 26, 1951, and was a son of the late Joseph Arthur and Marie Rita (Martel) Tousignant. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Lowell State College and his master’s degree from Boston University.  

Prior to his retirement, Hank was employed for 46 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.  

Hank was an avid golfer and his greatest joy was spending time in the company of his loving family and friends. 

In addition to his wife, Hank is survived by his son, Michael Tousignant and his wife Emily of CO; two daughters, Jaime Tousignant of CO and Kelly Palm and her husband Derek of CA; four grandchildren, Calvin Tousignant, Leo Tousignant, Harvey Palm and Samuel Palm; a brother, Robert Tousignant and his wife Andrea; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was also the brother of the late Claire Tousignant.  

Hank’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Lowell General Hospital for all of their care and support throughout the years. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Hank’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00am at Ste Marguerite D’Youville Church in Dracut. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hank’s memory to Lowell General Hospital’s TeamWalk for CancerCare, Lowell General Hospital, Attn: Philanthropy Department, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
