LOWELL - Henry L. "Bill" Morrissette, 89, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
He was born in Lowell on April 18, 1927, and was a son of the late Fernando "Curly" and Laura (Frechette) Morrissette. He received his education in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Academy.
Following high school, Bill worked in the mail room of Boston & Maine Railroad before enlisting and proudly serving his country in the United States Army during World War II.
When the war ended, he went back to work for B & M Railroad and had worked there for 40 years, before retiring in 1989 as an accountant.
Bill was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church in Lowell
He loved to travel, especially by train and had traveled across the United States by train in the 1960's. He also loved fine dining and going to Foxwoods.
Bill is survived by his best friend and sister, Aline Morrissette of Lowell and with whom he lived; his brother, Normand Morrissette of Laconia, NH; his niece, Diane Spinney and her husband George of Valley Cottage, NY; his nephew, Dennis Morrissette and his wife Doris of Laconia, NH; his grandnephews and grandnieces, Joseph, Laura, Sarah, Derek, Jesse, and Justin; and his dear friends, John and Terry Hall of Lowell.
He was also the brother-in-law of the late Pauline Morrissette and Catherine Morrissette and the uncle of the late Robert Morrissette, Paul Morrissette, and Richard Morrissette.
