DRACUT - Henry R. "Hank" Lanier, 77, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the Palm Center in Chelmsford. For over 50 years, he was the husband of Claire A. (Patenaude) Lanier, who predeceased him in 2014.
Henry was born in Lowell, MA on August 17, 1940, the youngest son of the late Irene (Laurent) and Philias Lanier. He was educated in the Lowell School System.
Prior to his retirement, Henry spent much of his career as a facilities manager in the electronics industry. He also spent many years as an auto mechanic.
He was an avid golfer and lover of country music. Most of all, Henry enjoyed spending time in the company of his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Henry is survived by his four children, Donna Lanier of Dracut, Raymond Lanier of Dracut, Cheryl Calhoun and her husband Christopher of Vershire, VT, and Rebeca Coffey and her husband Michael of Dracut; six grandchildren, Leighann Weston and her husband James of Peabody, Matthew Yackel of Dracut, Cassandra Calhoun and Scott Calhoun of Vershire, VT, and Gabrielle Coffey and Aidan Coffey of Dracut; a great grandchild, Jaylin Roman; a sister, Jeannette Taynor of Apache Junction, Arizona; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Hank's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Church in Dracut on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
