LOWELL - Henry N. Dozois was born in Lowell on January 27, 1944 and was a son of the late Henry A. And Claire Dozois.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, although he "battled snow snakes" in Greenland. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chef at various restaurants and colleges, the longest being at UMASS Lowell South Campus Dining. He also owned and operated Star Darts in Tyngsboro for several years.
Henry was a lifelong member of the Second Amendment Task Force, National Rifle Association, Disabled American Veterans, and formerly served as an Auxiliary Police Officer with the City of Lowell as a crossing guard.
He enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to wherever there was a casino. In addition Henry liked watching the Patriots and the Red Sox, but above all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Elaine and their three children, Michelle Blass, Henry Dozois, Jr., and David Dozois; and five grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Henry's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00pm. His burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
