Helen M. (Grusheck) Cross

February 18, 1920 — February 21, 2014

Helen M. (Grusheck) Cross, a longtime Winchester resident recently residing in Dracut, died Friday February 21, 2014 at home and with her loving family at her side. Helen was blessed to have just celebrated her 94th birthday on Tuesday with her family whom she adored.
Born in Lawrence on February 18, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. Grusheck, Sr. and Mary (Dziuba) Grusheck.
Helen grew up in Lawrence and later moved to Winchester where she raised her daughter. She was employed as an offset printer at the Pacific Mills. She was a hard worker and was very proud of her printing career.
Flowers were Helen's favorite. She always looked forward to the Spring when she could work on her gardens. During colder months she loved to ski, especially in the White Mountains. To relax, she would lose herself in a great book or crossword puzzle. If there was a yard sale going on, there you would find Helen. Antiquing and bowling were also favorite pastimes of hers.
Helen perfected the roles of mother and a grandmother. She had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. "Grammy", as she was known to them, was at her happiest being surrounded by all of them. Playing endless hours of Scrabble with her is a fond memory that they will all cherish.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurel G. Chisholm of Dracut; six grandchildren, Joyel Morris and her husband, Michael of Chelmsford, Dr. John V. Chisholm III and his wife, Shannon Lyons of Winooski, VT, Ian Chisholm and his wife, Jennifer of Lexington, Deirdre Johnson and her husband, Kevin of Dracut, Sgt. Kurt Chisholm, USMC of Dracut and Ceciley Chisholm of Dracut; six great grandchildren, Michaela, Brayden, Kyleigh, Tyler, Lauchlen and Austin; a sister, Lillian Morin of Windham, NH; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Anna Worster, Michael J. Grusheck Jr., Wanda Trzcinski and Caroline Gallagher.
