DRACUT - Gloria M. (Henry) Simard, 79, a Dracut resident, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 30, 2007 surrounded by her devoted family. She was the wife of the late Marcel Simard, a destroyer sailor in World War II.
Born in Lowell on April 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Aurore (Dubois) Henry.
Mrs. Simard was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling to the beach and mountains, and she loved cooking for her family gatherings. She loved life, storytelling to her grandchildren, and lighthouses. A giver that put others first, she will be forever missed by her loving children. They have surrendered her into the arms of the angels.
She is survived by a son, Marcel E. Simard of Milford, NH; five daughters, Deborah A. Miller of Nashua, NH , Cheryl A. Simard of Lowell, Diane M. Fares of Lowell, Caryl A. LaTouche of Lunenburg and Kathleen M. Capone and her husband Frank of Lowell; a sister, Kathleen Gagnon of Dracut; a dear friend, Gilberto Diaz of Dracut; 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Thomas Henry and Rosemarie Noon and grandmother of the late Christine Simard.
