Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother
Gloria L. (Ouellette) Moore, 82, a lifelong resident of Lowell, MA, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 with her children by her side. She was born in Lowell, MA on April 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Roger and Loretta (Pelland) Ouellette.
Gloria was a graduate of Lowell High School and married the love of her life, the late Robert D. "Bob" Moore on September 12, 1959. Their devotion, commitment and love for one another was the foundation for the life they built together. Gloria and Bob shared 53 years together until his passing in 2012. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort that she is reunited with him and all her family and friends who have passed before her.
Gloria was employed in the garment industry at the Boott Mills in Lowell, MA and also worked at Raytheon in South Lowell, MA. She was a talented homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting and DIY projects. Gloria painted, wallpapered and sewed her own curtains. She took pride in her home that has been in her family since 1903, and it was always beautifully decorated. Above all, Gloria's greatest joy was spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family meant the world to her and she would help anyone in need. She will be dearly missed.
Gloria is survived by her son, Michael R. Moore and her daughter, Brenda Chateauneuf and her husband, Rene, all of Lowell; and was the proud and loving "Memere" to five grandchildren, Michael D. Moore and his wife, Meaghan (Broadbent); Sarah (Moore) Vallante and her husband, Ben; Shawn Moore and his wife, Amanda (Reeves); Evan Chateauneuf and his wife, Rebecca Turrell, and Ashley (Chateauneuf) Cote and her husband, Benjamin; and five cherished great-grandchildren, Emma and Maxwell Vallante, and Kash, Remi and Luna Moore.
Gloria also leaves her three brothers, Roger Ouellette and his wife, Beverly of Rockport, MA; Richard Ouellette and his wife, Viviane of Lowell, MA; and Robert Ouellette and his wife, Donna of Litchfield, NH; a sister-in-law, Doris (Moore) Parent, and a brother-in-law, Donald Moore and his wife, Lorraine, all of Indiantown, Florida. She was also the sister-in-law of the late Richard Moore and his wife, Lula; George Moore and his wife, Therese, and Donat Parent. Gloria is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Dianne (Butler) (Moore) St. Peter, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gloria's Funeral Service on Friday, April 8th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford.
Gloria had a big heart that held a special place for children and animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to a charity of your choice, or simply perform an act of kindness with her in mind.
