Gloria R. Belanger, formerly of Tyngsboro, passed away on Friday January 20, 2017, at a local health care facility, following a period of declining health. She was 80 years old.
Gloria was born in Lowell on March 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Eugene H. and Rita B. (Audy) Belanger.
Upon graduation from St Joseph High School, Gloria entered the religious order of Sisters of Charity, also known as the Grey Nuns of Montreal. She later transferred to the Missionary Oblate Sisters of Mary Immaculate. Gloria later decided to leave religious life and return home.
She then entered the US Air Force, serving as a medic. Following Gloria's discharge from service, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration the former Lowell Technological Institute. She worked in data processing and accounting until illness forced her early retirement.
For Gloria, family was the central focus of her life. She adored her family, especially her nieces and nephews and cherished all of her time spent with them.
Survivors include her sister Pauline and her husband Albert Jean; a brother and sister in law, Robert and Claire Belanger, all of Dracut; a sister in law Linda Belanger of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews and one great grand niece.
Gloria was predeceased by a brother, Normand Belanger and her former husband Jerry Fedin and dear friend Maura McKinley.
