LOWELL - Gisele M. (Adam) Vermette, age 93, a longtime resident of Lowell died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Vermette, who died in 2002.
She was born in St. Beatrix, Quebec, Canada on April 4, 1928, and was one of 16 children of Noé and Leona (Ayotte) Adam. She attended school and resided in St. Beatrix with her family until she married Robert, who was from Lowell. She then relocated to Lowell.
Prior to her retirement, Gisele was self-employed as a dress maker for many years. Earlier in life she worked as a seamstress in the Lowell Mills.
She was an avid walker and enjoyed sewing, eating out, and shopping. Her greatest joy in life was spending time in the company of her loving family, especially her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gisele was a very religious woman and was a longtime communicant of the former St. Louis de France Parish in Lowell.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmel Pappaconstantinou and her husband Ken of Tyngsboro; her son, Richard Vermette and his longtime companion Carole Daigle of Manchester, NH; five grandchildren, Christina Pappaconstantinou of Chelmsford, Kenny Pappaconstantinou and his wife Perry Dougherty of Arlington, Angela Gallant and her husband Geoff of Hudson, NH, Marissa Manning and her husband Kevin of Brookline, NH, and Melanie Daigle of Manchester, NH; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gisele's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday, April 12th from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
