Gertrude J. St. Onge

Gertrude J. (Trudel) St. Onge, 95, a resident of Dracut, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert R. “Bob” St. Onge, until his passing in 2008.

Born in Lowell on December 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Eugenie (Pelletier) Trudel. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her home was her sanctuary, a place she filled with love, comfort and the kind of warmth only she could create.

She was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Church, where her heart of gold and devoted faith was the core of every special bond she created.

Gertrude is survived by her four daughters, Denise Willett and her husband, Bob of Dracut, Gloria Crane and her husband, Bill of Pelham, NH, Suzanne Frechette and her husband, Russell of Pelham, NH and Linda Higgins and her husband, Gary of Pelham, NH; her son, David St. Onge and his wife, Sharon of Lowell; her ten adored grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her special niece, Jeannine Szax; her dear friend and caretaker, Doreen Dupont; her sister-in-law, Theresa Trudel; as well as many extended family and friends.

She was the sister of the late Maurice, Gilbert, Leo, Venance and Lucien Trudel.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gertrude’s Celebration of Life on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27th at 10 AM in Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Church, Dracut. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
