DRACUT – Gertrude F. "Trudy" (Barry) Miller, 68, a resident of Dracut, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston with her loving family in her presence. She was the loving wife of Robert Miller with whom she would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on September 25.
Born in Lowell on December 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late R. Allen and Florence L. (Grady) Barry.
Prior to her retirement, Trudy had been employed by the Lahey Eye Clinic in Lowell.
Trudy was a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell and was extremely active with the East End Club Ladies Auxiliary. She had served as president and was instrumental in helping to run the Christmas Program. She also volunteered at Saints Cancer Center and at the East End Club sponsored blood drives. She was also a member of the Dom Polski Club and the Lowell Senior Citizens Club.
In addition to her husband she leaves two sons, Brian R. Miller and his wife Vallery (Schofield) of Dracut and Mark S. Miller of Salem, NH; a sister, Rosemary Carr of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Barry of Lowell; two grandchildren, Matthew B. and Kelsie R. Miller of Dracut; a nephew, Richard A. Barry III and his wife Danielle of Pepperell; grandnieces and grandnephew, Paige K., Trevor J. and Riley A. Barry, all of Pepperell; her Goddaughter, Sherrol (Carr) Robertson of Palm Coast, FL. She was the sister of Richard A. Barry, Jr. who died on August 10.
