Obituary - Gertrude D. Hamel
Dracut - Gertrude D. (Beaulieu) Hamel, 76, wife of Dominique L. Hamel, with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage on February 18, died Sunday morning at her Dracut residence.
She was born in Lowell on May 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Camille and Orise (Lambert) Beaulieu.
In earlier years Mrs. Hamel attended St. Louis Academy and was a stitcher for Hathaway Shirt Co. in Lowell, and later a hairdresser at Annette's Beauty Salon of Lowell and Dracut.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut, and a former member of their choir, a member of the Dracut Senior Citizen Club, Mrs. Hamel enjoyed traveling with the Dracut and Chelmsford Senior Citizen Club, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family gatherings.
Surviving her besides her husband are a son and daughter in law, Marc and Kimberly (Wilson) Hamel of Hudson, NH; two daughters and sons in law Donna and John Briere of Milan, NH, Jeanne and Richard Parziale of Hudson, NH; a sister Annette Koutrobis of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Scott and Joseph Briere, Dominique, Nathan and Samantha Hamel, Evan and Erica Parziale; and several nieces and nephews.
