OBITUARY

GERMAINE L. "GERRY" MARTIN
LOWELL- Germaine L. "Gerry" Martin, 74, a lifelong resident of the city and former wife and companion of George "Buddy" Martin, died Thursday, April 22, in a local nursing home.
Born in Newark, NJ on January 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Yvonne (Lessard) Belanger. A lifelong communicant of St. Louis de France Church and a member of the Parish Prayer Group, Gerry received her education in local schools and attended St. Louis Academy.
Prior to her retirement, she was a Real Estate Broker for many years with the Gerry Martin Realty in the Greater Lowell area. She also had worked with the Union National Bank on Lakeview Ave in Lowell. She then went on to retire from UMass Lowell in the Financial Aid Department where she received prestigious awards for her diligent work with students in their work study and financial aid.
Surviving her beside her former husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis J.
Martin of Nashua and Kevin A. and Brenda G. Martin of Lowell; a daughter, Dianne Martin-Bastian of Pelham; a brother and his wife, Raymond and Doris Belanger of Lowell; two sisters and their husbands, Lillian and George Kucera of Houston, TX and Pauline and Richard Waldron of Squantum, MA; six grandchildren, Tina Martin Huppe and her husband Raymond Huppe, Todd Martin, Taylor Bastian, Antonio, James and Lori Martin; also several nieces and nephews.
