Germaine R. Lamarre

Lowell - Germaine R. (Sawyer) Lamarre, 93, widow of Alfred E. Lamarre, who died December 24, 1985, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage, died Friday March 10, 2006, at the Lowell General Hospital.
She was born in Lowell on July 11, 1912, a daughter of the late Wilbrod and Lucinda (Paquette) Sawyer.
Germaine had been a resident of Lowell, but for the past 50 years had been a resident of Dracut.
Prior to her retirement in 1974 Mrs. Lamarre was a buyer for the former Bon Marche in Lowell, and a for seven years was a senior aide for Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, and a senior companion for CTI. She was a communicant of Ste. Therese Church, an active member of the Dracut Senior Citizen Club, she enjoyed playing cribbage, and listening to country music.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Lamarre of Dillon, CO; two daughters and sons in law, Charlene and Robert Dion of Lowell, Karen and Dale Dutton of Fitchburg; nine grandchildren, Dylan and Barton Lamarre of Dillon, CO, Linda Cambray and her husband David of Hudson, NH, Robert Dion, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Nashua, NH, David Dion and his wife Marcia of Hudson, NH, Suzanne Dion of Lowell, Kimberly Guislain and her husband Michael of Fitchburg, Christopher Dutton and his wife Shannon, Melissa O'Ferrell and her husband Richard, all of Leominster; twelve great grandchildren, Guy Corey, Anthony and Samantha Marchese, Eric and Courtney Dion, Justin and Matthew Dion, Jasmin Guislain, Frankie and Sean Dutton, Zoe and Zack, O'Ferrell; a special niece Bernice Bailey of Dracut. She was also the grandmother of the late Courtney Lamarre and great grandmother of the late Derek Dion. She was the last member of eight children in her family; she was sister of the late Charles, Eugene, Albert, Roland, and Bernard Sawyer, Florence Maloney, and Irene Moison.
