DRACUT - Gerard E. Morin, age 79, a longtime resident of Dracut died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine M. (Tancrelle) Morin with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on December 9, 1938, and was a son of the late Ernest and Jeannette (Cognac) Morin.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph Grammar School and St. Joseph High School, both in Lowell. He also attended Lowell Technological Institute.
He was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church.
Gerard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves.
Prior to his retirement, Gerard was employed for many years in Product Assurance by the Avco Company in Wilmington.
He loved bowling, coaching, and camping.
In addition to his wife, Gerard is survived by his three children, Jay Morin of Methuen, Raeann Lach and her husband David of Derry, NH, and Keith Morin and his wife Donna of Billerica; six grandchildren, Shane Lach and his fiancé Judy Houth, Ryan and Seth Lach, Russell, Nathaniel and Krystal Morin; his brother, Robert Morin of Dracut, his sister-in-law, Theresa Morin of Dracut; also many nieces and nephews. He was the father-in-law of the late Leslie Morin.
Gerard's family would like to thank All Care Hospice and Elder Care Services for the wonderful care they provided during his illness.
ARRANGEMENTS - It being his wish, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gerard's Memorial Committal Service at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford on Saturday, May 26, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerard's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
