Gerard J. "Jerry" Desrocher, 86, a longtime resident of Methuen and former resident of St. Petersburg, FL, died peacefully, Wednesday May 25, 2011, with his loving family at his side, at the Penacook Place in Haverhill. He was the devoted husband of Theresa A. (Rancourt) Desrocher with whom he celebrated sixty-six years of marriage in February.
Born in Lawrence on September 26, 1924, he was a son of the late Ernest and Alice (Boudreau) Desrocher and the step son of the late Doris ( Marsland) Desrocher.
Jerry was a decorated WWII Navy veteran. For many years, he was self employed as a truck driver having owned R & L Trucking with his brother.
Jerry was an avid bowler and an excellent shuffleboard player. Above all things in life, the most important to Jerry was his beloved wife and family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Roland Desrocher and his wife, Cynthia of Methuen; two daughters, Helen Asquith and her husband, Robert of Londonderry, NH, Joyce Pelland and her husband, Richard of Pelham, NH; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Karla, Kristen, Jason, Colin, Jon and Holly; five great grandchildren, A.J., Andre, Kevin, Shawn and Jackson; several brothers and sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Arthur and Leo Desrocher and Rita Sebra.
