Geraldine E. "Gerry" (Brennan) Griffin

Geraldine E. "Gerry" (Brennan) Griffin, a Dracut resident and beloved wife of the late John J. Griffin, passed away peacefully at the Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus on Monday, September 11, 2017. She was 89.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1928, Gerry was one of five children born to Walter and Margaret (Walsh) Brennan.

She was educated in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Massachusetts and settled in Dracut in 1953, where she resided until her passing.

Prior to her retirement, Gerry worked for more than 27 years in the customer sales support department for General Electric. Following her retirement, she was the bookkeeper for her son's company, Brite Kleen Dry Cleaners in Dracut for more than 20 years.

In her earlier years, Gerry was a former member of the League of Women Voters where she was an active volunteer for many years. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling with her husband Jackie. They went on several cruises, and many trips to Aruba and Las Vegas. She enjoyed watching horse racing with Jackie, especially the Kentucky Derby. Gerry loved spending summer vacations renting at Seabrook Beach, and enjoyed Saturday day trips to Wallis Sands in Rye with her family and grandchildren.

Some of the many traditions with her family were, playing cards on Saturday, Sunday dinner at the former Cedar Crest Restaurant, annual Christmas Eve celebrations, where she would serve her famous Italian style meatballs, and welcoming in each new year at the family's party.

Gerry was happiest when she was with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children and spouses, Sharon and Daniel Stagnone of Londonderry, NH, Susan and Marc Salois of Windham, NH, John Griffin and Sherri Atkinson of Dracut; six grandchildren, Matthew Stagnone and his wife Beth, Laura Bennett and her husband Richie, Jennifer Schommer and her husband Derrick, Stacy Salois-Allen, Amy Salois, Caelan Doherty; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Baby .
