Geraldine E. Coffey, 91, a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell, died Thursday August 20, 2009 at Saints Medical Center.
Born in Lowell on July 5, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret(Devlin) Coffey. She was a 1936 graduate of Lowell High School where she was a Captain in the Girl Officers Battalion.
For more than 55 years, she worked as an accountant for Pease Oldsmobile, Union National Bank, Pierce Ford and Hallissey Pierce Rental Office.
She is survived by her beloved brother, John Joseph Coffey, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by her sister, Rita (Coffey) Hurley of Dracut; two nieces, her Godchild, Luanne Hurley, R.N. and Elaine M. Hurley both of Dracut; two nephews, John J. Hurley, Charles F. Hurley and his wife, Deborah of Dracut, Thomas V. Hurley of East Weymouth; a grand niece and nephew; five great grand nieces and nephew all of New Hampshire.
She was also the sister-in-law of the late John T. Hurley.
