DRACUT - Gerald T. McMahon, 76, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side on Monday, June 28, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Donna M. (McNeely) McMahon with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past June 19th.
Born in Boston, on February 5, 1945, he was a son of the late John F. "Lefty" McMahon and Claire L. (Trainor) McMahon.
Jerry grew up in Brighton and was a graduate of St. Columbkille's Catholic School, class of 1962. He received a bachelor's degree from Bentley College in 1966 and a law degree from Suffolk University in 1972.
He served with the United States Coast Guard Reserves for an enlistment.
Jerry worked for the IRS in Boston as chief of appeals, retiring after 35 years.
Locally he was a member of the East End Club, the Dom Polski Club and a member of St. Michael Parish.
He enjoyed online contests, and was a multiple winner sharing his prizes with family and friends alike.
Jerry had a passion for baseball, as a long time follower of the Boston Red Sox and as a season ticket holder for the Lowell Spinners. He was known for his love of animals and especially enjoyed dog sitting both Katie's Beagles and Moe's King Charles Cavaliers.
In addition to his wife Donna, he leaves three children, Kathleen Marie McMahon of Dracut, Paul McNeely McMahon and his wife Christine (Cote) of Methuen and Maureen T. McMahon of Chelmsford; five grandchildren, Owen McMahon, Yvonne Cote, Gracie, Alyssa and Samantha McMahon; a brother, John McMahon and his wife Betty of Hudson; two sisters, Janet Bonner and her husband Robert of Brighton and Carol McMahon and her husband Stephen Murphy of Northborough; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maureen (Harrington) McGahan of Dracut, Elaine and Charles McDonagh of South Hampton, NY and Paul and Melissa McNeely of Clearwater, FL; also beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gerald's Life Celebration on Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 AM in St. Michael Church. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
