Georgette A. (Paquette) Martineau

LOWELL - Georgette A. (Paquette) Martineau, 83, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Monday, April 2, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Rene L. Martineau, to whom she was married for 59 years.

She was born in Lowell on August 5, 1934, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Duplessey) Paquette. She received her education at the Sacred Heart School in Newport, VT.

Prior to her retirement, Georgette was owner and operator of Georgette's Beauty Salon in Lowell. Earlier in her career she was employed as a hairdresser for 20 years by Lowell Academy in Lowell.

She enjoyed trips to the casinos, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. However, her greatest joy came from time spent in the company of her loving family.

In addition to her husband, Georgette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rene G. and Debra Martineau of Watertown, CT; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle M. and Jeffrey Noel of Pelham, NH; two grandchildren, Emily Noel and Gregory Noel, both of Pelham, NH; a brother, Normand Paquette; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Francis Paquette, Rudolph Paquette, Donald Paquette, Theresa Levasseur, Florence St. Laurent, and Jean Ferron.

ARRANGEMENTS - It being her wish, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Georgette's Funeral Service at the St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel in Chelmsford on Thursday at 12:30 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell.
