DRACUT - George R. “Ronnie” Hoffman, 91, a Dracut resident, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital following a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy G. (McNeil) Hoffman, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.
Born in Dracut on June 25, 1933, he was a son of the late George D. and Gladys (Nichols) Hoffman.
George served with the United States Navy during the Korean War , earning the Rank of Quartermaster 3rd Class and was Honorably Discharged in 1954.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a union plumber with Plumber’s Local #12, Boston. Following his retirement from the union, he was employed for several years for the Raytheon Company in Andover.
George loved playing golf and in his spare time could be seen selling used golf clubs out in front of his home. He also enjoyed antiquing, and was known to be a good handyman who could fix anything.
In addition to his wife he leaves six children, Gary Hoffman and his partner Kimberly Morency, Lee Ann Gagne, Lori Duchesne and her husband Robert, Scott Hoffman and his wife Jayne, Steven Hoffman and his wife Genevé, Lisa Manoukian and her husband James; 8 grandchildren, Gregory and Alison Hoffman, Jennifer Charbonneau, Ryan Gagne, Matthew Duchesne, Michael Duchesne, Scott R. “Scooter” Hoffman and Sage Hoffman; 6 great grandchildren, Amelia “Mia” Hoffman, Phillipa Hoffman, Wyatt Charbonneau, Everett Gagne, Kelsea Duchesne and Liam Duchesne.
