LOWELL - George J. Painchaud, 85, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Monday morning, March 6, 2006 in a local nursing home. He was the husband of the late Rita (Dion) Painchaud.
Born in Lowell on March 30, 1920, he was a son of the late Gustave and Eva (Belleville) Painchaud.
Mr. Painchaud served with the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 25.
He was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church and a member of the Centralville Social Club and A.A.R.P.
He is survived by two sisters, Sister Rita Painchaud of Montreal, Canada and Doris Perron of Lowell; also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
He was the brother of the late Roland, Armand O. and Marcel J. "Red" Painchaud, and Juliette Beauchesne.
