George N. Morneau, the beloved husband of Deborah M. (Brule) Morneau, of Lowell died Saturday January 31,at Lowell General Hospital with his family by his side. He was 69.
Born in Lowell on May 12, 1945, a son of the late Leo J. and Celina L. (Guillemette) Morneau.
George was a hard working man. From the age of 16, he began working at the Lawrence Manufacturing of Lowell under the watchful eye of his loving father.
He was later employed for 25 years at the former Dracut Sewer Service, and until his illness he was a bus driver for 11 years with the Merrimack Education Center.
He enjoyed fishing, vacationing at Old Orchard Beach in Maine, loved eating at Brown's Seafood in Seabrook, NH and camping. George loved to travel with his motor home, once went across country to surprise his children in California and Las Vegas.
Family members describe George as a people person who was always joking. He was a friend to everyone, always willing to lend a helping hand. George also took pleasure in a cold beer or two.
He was a longtime member of the Centralville Social Club.
Surviving him besides his wife of 25 years are his four children, George N. Morneau, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Leo Morneau of Haverhill, MA Jason Morneau of Hollywood, CA, , Erika Boulanger and her fiancé Rollins Richards of Dover, NH; a brother Francis L. Morneau of Manchester, NH; sisters and brothers in law Theresa and Roland Gendron of Lowell, Florence and Bob Corson of Manchester, NH; several grandchildren including Kara Morneau, with whom he shared a special bond, and Jennifer, Stefani, Natasha, Samantha, of Dover, NH, Christopher, Nathan, Lyndsey,Joshua, Jacob, Danial and Carly of Las Vegas, NV,; a great grandson, Jonathan "JR" Jones. Jr. of Dover, NH; his Aunt Reggie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
