Lowell - George A. Maillet, a resident of Lowell and the beloved husband of Michelle M. (Laurent) Maillet, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was 69.

Born in Gardner on September 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Rita (LeBlanc) Maillet. George grew up in Gardner and was educated there.

George loved playing and watching all sports and especially looked forward to fishing and golf tournaments with his brothers-in-law.

A talented builder, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a hardworking man with a happy, lighthearted nature. Soft-spoken and generous with his time and talents, George was always there for others.

George also had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Charlie, who went everywhere with him.

In addition to his wife of 10 years, Michelle, whom he met more than 30 years ago while they were both working at Market Mills, George is survived by his two daughters, Shannon and Kierstin, two stepdaughters, Nikki and Kerry; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and John Lafferty, Irene and Rick Stacy, Leonie and Joe Emma, and Ginette and Mike Busack; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Rene and Cindy Maillet, Maurice Maillet, Claude and Paula Maillet, Jean Maillet and Jodie Johnson, and Paul Maillet and Melissa Ruckdeschel; eleven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Denise and Paul Dion, Collette and Richard D’Amour, Suzanne and Louis Brunelle, Dianne and Roland Chandonnet, Priscille Tuson and Steve Marson, Joselyne Laurent, Jeanne and Richard Davis, Jacqueline and Michael Quinn, Mark and Laurie Laurent, David and Tammy Laurent, and Peter Blatus; his dear friends, Al Cunha and Dan Ralls; and several nieces and nephews.

George was the brother of the late Robert Maillet, brother-in-law of the late Louis Laurent, Karen Blatus, and uncle of the late Jennifer D’Amour.

Relatives and friends are invited to George's Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Church, 16 Main Street, Pelham, NH. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Lowell General Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave. Lowell, MA 01854.
