George Raymond Loiselle

Lowell - George Raymond Loiselle, 83, husband of Julie (Martin) Loiselle, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 21 of this year, a Centralville resident, died Sunday morning following an extended illness at the Saints Medical Center, where he was a dialysis patient.
Mr. Loiselle was born in Lowell on July 24, 1923, a son of the late Leonide and Hermina (Lafontaine) Loiselle.
A veteran of WWII he had served in the US Army, was in battles in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Prior to his retirement Mr. Loiselle was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Ft. Devens for thirty five years. He then worked at Kenwood Florist in Lowell for twenty five years.
He was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church, a member of the American Legion in Lowell, the Veterans of St. Louis, the Centralville Senior Citizen Club, and the Centralville Social Club.
Surviving him besides his wife are a sister and brother in law, Georgette and Atty. Francis Boland of Lowell; two sisters in law, Gerry Dery of Dracut, Terry Golas of Lowell; seven nieces and nephews, Suzanne Lagasse, Roger Loiselle, Emile Renaud, Denise Melo, Marc Loiselle, Steven Loiselle, Lisa Loiselle; and a grand niece, Savannah Melo. He was the brother of the late Arthur and Eugene "Jiggs" Loiselle, and godfather of the late Cheryl Loiselle.
