LOWELL - George F. Harrison, 77, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Dery) Harrison, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on July 22, 1944, he was a son of the late George R. and Gertrude (Lausier) Harrison.
George worked most of his life in the automotive field, retiring from Napa Auto Parts.
He was a longtime member of the Dom Polski Club of Lowell and was an active member of the former Dracut Civic Club, playing on their softball team.
He enjoyed muscle cars, scratch tickets, playing the lottery and watching the Red Sox and Patriots on TV.
He and Joan cherished spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he leaves six children, David Harrison and George "Skip" Harrison, both of No. Chelmsford, Keith Harrison of Orlando, FL, Scott Harrison of Lowell, Jennifer Normandin and her husband Sean of Naples, FL and Carrie Cronin and her husband William of Lowell; three siblings, Richard Harrison of Westford, Ann Tanguay of Merrimack, NH and Aline Cameron and her husband James of Lowell; sixteen grandchildren, Jessica Fitzmaurice and her husband Ryan, David Leach, Casey, Julie, Kevin, Meghan, Jake, Luke, Kate, Tatum, Sydney and Wyatt Harrison, Christopher and Cara Normandin, Jack and Molly Cronin; 3 great grandchildren, Shane, Owen and Cameron Fitzmaurice; also several nieces and nephews. He was grandfather of the late Ryan Normandin, father-in-law of the late Laura (Henchey) Harrison, brother-in-law of the late Monique Harrison and Joe Tanguay.
Relatives and friends are invited to George's Memorial Visitation on Monday, Oct. 4, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Funeral Services will conclude the visitation at 12:00 PM.
