George A. Adams

November 4, 1926 — December 21, 2016

DRACUT - George A. Adams, Sr., a Dracut resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at D'Youville Senior Care surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Agnes E. (Desmarais) Adams to whom he was married for 63 years.
Born in Lawrence on November 4, 1926, he was a son of the late Joseph Adams and Mary (Arlequeeuw) (Adams) Scully.
George was a graduate of Lawrence High School and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He enlisted in 1944 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1946, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, the American Theatre Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Dracut American Legion, Post 315.
Prior to his retirement in 1993, George had been employed by the maintenance department of the Dracut School System. Previously, he had also been employed by George Picard Construction of Lowell.
George was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut.
In addition to his wife Agnes he leaves two sons, Robert Adams and his wife Linda of Merrimack, NH and George A. Adams, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Atkinson, NH; 10 Grandchildren, Kerry Bredbenner of Danville, NH, Amy Driscoll of Chelmsford, Timothy G. Adams of Derry, NH, Thomas F. Adams of Pelham, NH, Derek Adams of Windham, NH, Dr. Danyel Adams of South Hadley, Kristin Bazemore of Amherst, NY, Devin Adams of Windham, NH, Lauren Adams of Merrimack, NH and Desiree Adams of Epson, NH; 12 great grandchildren, Alissa, Haley, Colby, Sean, Kevin, Brodie, Kennedy, Chase, James, Carson, Rae Lynn and Kenneth; also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sons, Joseph D. Adams of Lawrence and and Kenneth G. Adams (Ken's Auto, Pelham NH) of Hudson, NH, and by sisters, Frances Hilderbrandt of Lawrence and Florida and Pearl Flanagan of Lawrence.
George's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of D'Youville Senior Care for the kindness, compassion and care that they showed to George during his time there.
