DRACUT - "Sir" Geoffrey Wayne Cowan, 57, a resident of Dracut for the past 20 years, died Tuesday morning, April 28, 2009 at Saints Medical Center following a short term illness. He was the devoted husband of "Lady" Nancy Regina (DeLisle) Cowan, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.
Born in Dover, MA on May 22, 1951, he was a son of the late James P. and Elizabeth Ray (Allyn) Cowan.
A former resident of Dover, MA, Mr. Cowan was a graduate of Dover Regional High School and served with the United States Army with the 38th Cavalry.
Since 1979, he was the owner/operator of Bassett Services, Inc.
In addition to his wife he leaves a faithful companion, his Yorkshire Terrier Percy: his beloved daughters, Cindy Polewarczyk and her lifelong partner Spiros Alemesis of Lowell and Keriann McGrade of Tyngsboro; a brother, Lance Cowan and his wife Barbara Anthensen-Cowan of East Boston; two sisters, Pamela M. Cowan and her husband Fred M. McConnell of Tucson, AZ and Jennifer Mulherin and her husband Christopher of Framingham; seven adoring grandchildren, Nicholas Geoffrey Alemesis, Zachary and Madison Alemesis and Shantel, Joseph, Olivia and Makenzie McGrade. His loving mother-in-law, Margaret S. DeLisle of Dracut; a brother-in-law, Raymond DeLisle and his wife Maria Ellena of Alameda, CA; a nephew, Christenson Mulherin and a niece Jennaray Mulherin. He will be sadly missed by his dear friends at Bassett Services.
