Gabriela V. (Costa) Cordeiro, 91, a resident of North Billerica, passed away at the Heritage Skilled Nursing Center on Monday, May 16, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Tony Cordeiro who passed away on November 28, 2013.
Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on December 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Viera) Costa.
She was a dedicated Certified Nurses' Aide, most recently at the Wingate Nursing Facility. Although she held a variety of jobs, the most treasured one was as caretaker to her beloved family.
Mrs. Cordeiro was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Lowell.
She was known for her love of cats.
Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known to her family as a wonderful cook.
Gabriela's family would like to thank the staff at the Heritage Skilled Nursing Center for the compassionate care given to her.
She leaves a son and his wife, Jose L. and Maria I. Costa of Lowell; a step-daughter and her husband, Leslie and Richard Cunha of No. Billerica; a brother and his wife, Jose Z. and Leocaida Costa of Lowell; two sisters, Cecilia Dias of Dracut and Alvinda Andre of Azores, Portugal; three grandchildren, Larry Costa of CA, Elizabeth Carroll and her husband Jamie of No. Andover and Kelli Eliopoulos and her husband Jason of Lowell; eight great grandchildren, Gabriela and Gunnar Costa, Nathan and Nora Eliopoulos, James and Mae Carroll, Cameron and Anthony Cunha; several nieces, nephews among whom are two God daughters. She was a sister of the late Maria Alves.
