G. Beverly Kirwin, 83, a lifelong Lowell resident, died peacefully Thursday September 27, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA . She was the Beloved wife of the late Henry F. Kirwin to whom she was married for 53 years.
Born in Lowell on March 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Genevieve (Smith) Clark.
She attended Lowell schools having graduated Lowell High School in 1946. Beverly loved school and was an outstanding student. Bev was involved in many school activities and was a girl officer.
Bev was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, always ready to help and care for family members. "Nani" as she was affectionately known was devoted to her children and grandchildren she enjoyed cooking and providing a loving home for her family.
In addition to her generosity and kindness, she will be remembered for her strong work ethic. While raising her family, Bev worked at the phone company for 45 years. She began her career as a Telephone Operator in 1946 for New England Telephone where she was promoted to supervisor retiring in 1990. She was well-liked and respected by her colleagues.
Beverly was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Telephone Workers Pioneer Club and the League of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her children, Patrick Kirwin and his wife, Brenda of Kensington, NH, Judy Williams and her husband, James of Lowell, Donna Kirwin of Lowell, Sharon Kirwin and her husband, Kenneth Hood of Lowell; a sister, Pauline Keefe of Lowell; five grandchildren, Matthew Kirwin, Sara Kirwin with whom she resided, Emily Williams, Rachel Williams and Maggie Hood; and many special nieces and nephews who were loved so much by "Auntie Bev."
She was the sister of the late Phyllis Kokinos and Mary Lou Clark.
