LOWELL - Fred Donald McKenzie, 75, a resident of Dracut died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Lee (Darisse) McKenzie, to whom he was married for 51 years.
He was born in Lowell on December 25, 1942, and was a son of the late John E. and Grace E. (Swindells) McKenzie. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 35 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, reading, and vacationing with his family in the White Mountains.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his three children, Tiffani McKenzie, Kevin McKenzie, and Rebecca "Becca" McKenzie; six grandchildren, Shelby, Tyler, Melody, Damon, Davon, and Sean; a sister, Bonnie Durand; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Fred's Memorial Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM followed by Navy Military Honors at 8:00 PM.
