Fred Albert Greenwood

Fred Albert Greenwood, age 69, a longtime resident of Pelham, NH passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia L. (Rousseau) Greenwood with whom he would have celebrated their 45th Anniversary in May.

He was born in Lawrence, MA on June 6, 1951, and was the son of the late Albert and Yvonne (Beaulieu) Greenwood. He was raised in Salem, NH and graduated from Salem High School in 1969 as the first graduating class from that high school.

Prior to his retirement he was employed for 17 years as a District Sales Manager for Kellogg/Keebler Company. He began his career in the grocery industry at Demoulas Markets in Salem, NH at 14 years old, working his way up to store manager. He left the company after 20 years in pursuit of following his dream of opening his own market.

He and Cindy owned and operated Bouchers Market in Lowell, MA for the next few years. After closing the market he worked for Shop N Save for several years.

He has been a communicant of Saint Patrick's Church in Pelham, NH, for over 30 years. He was also a former parishioner of Saint Louis de France Church in Lowell, MA where he volunteered at their annual carnival and family picnics.

Fred was an avid bowler and pool player, his favorite was playing golf with his father in-law. He was a member of the Lowell Elks for many years. He also enjoyed playing cards with his father and siblings, going to yard sales, antique shops, playing cribbage, 45's, and Mahjong.

Spending time in the company of his loving family brought him the most joy. His children and his 14 grandchildren were his world.

In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his five children, Faith A. Jutras of Derry, NH, Fred R. Greenwood and his wife Tiffany (Abreu) of Hudson, NH, Emily J. Greenwood and her husband James P. Desmond of Salem, NH, Adam M. Greenwood and his wife Kate (Willette) of Pelham, NH and Bethany A. (Greenwood) Gagne and her husband Mark of Pelham, NH; fourteen grandchildren Jennifer Estes, Michaela, Ethan and Donovan Greenwood, AiLi Greenwood, Autumn, Emmett, and Anna Desmond, Jameson, Logan, and Scotlyn Greenwood, and Yvonne, Eliza, and Celia Gagne; his three sisters, Dorothy (Greenwood) Arivella and her husband Sam of Methuen,MA, Barbara (Greenwood) Redfern and her husband William of Derry, NH, and Carol (Greenwood) Righini and her husband Alfred of Durham, NH; a brother-in-law, Paul Rousseau and his wife Michelle of Litchfield, NH; three sisters-in-law, Candice Rousseau of Methuen, MA, Paula Rousseau of Methuen, MA, and Lisa (Rousseau) Condo and her husband Christopher of Auburn, NH; and many nieces, nephews, and dearest of friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Fred's Graveside Service on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11:15 am at Gibson Cemetery on Marsh Road in Pelham. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation and his Funeral Mass will be private and masks and social distancing will be required at all services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Fred's memory to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd #301, Framingham, MA 01701, or to Red Nose Day, which is an organization that helps lift children out of poverty here and around the world at rednoseday.org.
