Francis Joseph Whitey Williams, 77, a longtime resident of Dracut, devoted husband to Barbara J. (Sullivan) Williams, passed away Sunday December 6, 2009, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Boston on January 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen (Joyce) Williams.
Whitey had been employed as a form carpenter for 38 years. He was a hard worker, an excellent provider for his family and a genuinely good man. He was a quiet, family man and he adored his grandchildren and his many pets. He was a lover of all animals. He fished avidly and enjoyed sports but his main enjoyment came from spending time with his adoring family and puttering around the house. He was a longtime Boy Scout Master for Troop 37 many years ago. Whitey built a happy home and his presence will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Barry Joseph Williams and his wife, Kathy of Eliot, ME, Stephen Francis Williams and Maria Hanley of Groton; his granddaughter, Kirsten Williams and her mother, Melissa Williams of Hudson, NH; his grandson, Evan Williams of Portsmouth, NH; and three special, wonderful friends, Alice Golen of Tewksbury, Claire Vigeant of Dracut, "Aunty" Kay McCarthy of Hudson, NH.
He was the father of the late William J. "Billy" Williams who died on December 24, 1964.
