Francis P. Trowbridge

Lowell- Francis P. Trowbridge, 82, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 22, 2007 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores "Dolly" (Sudol) Trowbridge, with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2006.
Born in Lowell on December 23, 1924, a son of Frank and Catherine (Kiernan) Trowbridge, he was a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of Lowell.
A veteran of WWII serving with the United States Navy aboard the USS Highbee in the Pacific Theater, he attained the rank of Petty Officer 1c.
Mr. Trowbridge was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church and was a graduate of St. Michael School and Lowell High School at the age of 15. In 1991, Mr. Trowbridge graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a BS in American Studies. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 42 years a Train Master for the B&M Railroad at North Station, Boston.
His memberships included the UMASS Lowell Alumni Association, American Legion Post 0462, in Boston. Frank enjoyed reading, playing cribbage, and crossword puzzles.
Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter and son in law, Brenda and Nassar Amlashi of Chelmsford; two sons and daughters in law, John and Diane Trowbridge of Hudson, NH, James and Dorothy (Perreault) Trowbridge of Lowell;six grandchildren, James Trowbridge of Lowell, Anna Amlashi and Amir Amlashi of Chelmsford, Shawn Trowbridge, Trevor Osgood and Taylor Osgood, all of Hudson, NH; a brother, Richard and Maria Trowbridge of Long Island, NY; two brothers in law, William Levitt of FL, Edward Sudol of Lowell; several nieces and nephews, including his god children, Kathleen Messenheimer, Charlotte Baker-Wilson, Beth Kelley, and Neil Brown. He was also the brother of the late Paul Trowbridge, Ruth Levitt, and Margaret Brown.
