Francis E. "Red" O'Neill, 82, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Oldfield) O'Neill, R.N.
Born in Lowell on March 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Francis and Ida (Beaucage) O'Neill.
Mr. O'Neill attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1942. He was a member of the Lowell Senior Citizens and A.A.R.P.
He served with the United States Army during World War II.
Prior to his retirement in 1990, Mr. O'Neill worked as a Court Officer
for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Trial Court system, both in Cambridge and Lowell.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a step-daughter, Gail Burnett-Schauer and her husband James Schauer of Redwood City, CA; three step-grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Iain Burnett; a brother-in-law, Edwin J. Bukala of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late James L. O'Neill and brother of the late Marie E. "Betty" Duffy and A. Rita Bukala.
