LOWELL - Francis T. Moynihan, 90, a resident of the Highlands section of Lowell for the last 57 years, died Monday evening, November 30, 2009 in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. (Regan) Moynihan who passed away on October 17, 2009.
Born in Boston on January 27, 1919, he was a son of the late James L. and Margaret (McNenney) Moynihan.
Mr. Moynihan served with the United States Army during World War II as a Military Police Officer.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Lands and Buildings Department for the City of Lowell. He was a life member of the Bricklayers Union, Local 1.
Mr. Moynihan was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Frances C. Moynihan of Lowell and Gail "Mary Gail" DeAngelis and her husband Carmen of Medford; a brother, Jim Moynihan and his wife Sally of Lowell; two grandchildren, Carmen DeAngelis and his wife Andrea of Medford and Robert DeAngelis of Ontario, Canada; four great grandsons, several nieces and nephews. He was a brother-in-law of the late Kenneth P. and Norma C. (Ralls) Regan.
