Francis H. "Frank" Mahoney

Francis H. “Frank” Mahoney, age 83, a resident of Methuen passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  

He was born in Dracut on February 13, 1941, and was the son of the late Michael and Mildred (Joubert) Mahoney.  He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence and Merrimack College in N. Andover.   

Upon graduation, Frank went on to teach at St. David’s School in New York City and Dwight Englewood School in Englewood, NJ until his retirement.  

He loved to live in New York City, but returned to Methuen to care for his mother who developed health issues.  He was a dedicated and loving son.  

Following his retirement, Frank enjoyed spending time with his pet dogs.

Frank is survived by his cousin, Jim Moran and his wife Alice; three second cousins, Bridget Davis, Christina Moran and Kerry Bibeiro; and his best friends, Bill and Sonia Valentine and Malcolm Duffy.  

He was predeceased by his beloved aunt, Helen Moran and cousin Michael Moran.  

Frank's family would like to thank the entire staff at The Giving Tree Senior Living in Dracut and the nurses at Brookhaven Hospice in N. Andover, for the loving care they administered to Frank during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 9:00 until 11:00am followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00am at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
