Francis C. Lyle

Lowell - Francis C. Lyle a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell died Monday February 2, 2009 at the Ipswich home of his niece Heidi Lyle. He was 85.
He was born in Tewksbury on November 23, 1923, a son of the late Charles A. and Mary C. (Lee) Lyle.
He graduated from Lowell High School where he was a Capitan of the High School Brigade, and a member of the National Honor Society.
Francis was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army for three years mostly in Europe, where he participated in two battles. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an inspector for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in the Boston office.
He was a communicant of St. Michael Church, and held membership in the DAV and the VFW Walker Rogers Post 662.
Francis was a collector of beautiful things and his greatest joy was giving them away. All things of nature were important to him, such as, the flowers, the forests and the birds.
Survivors include a brother Charles A. Lyle of Lowell; a dear friend Marguerite Danderault of SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert, James, Virginia Elwell, and Dorothy Miekle.
