Francis H. Boland, the beloved husband of Georgette T. (Loiselle) Boland, and a resident of the Christian Hill section of Lowell, died on Thursday, June 9, 2016, following a period of declining health. He was 92.
Frank was born in Lowell on November 17, 1923, a son of the late William and Rose (Marcotte) Boland.
A lifelong Lowell resident. Frank graduated from Lowell High School, where he was a star running back for the football team, and enlisted in the US Army serving in the European Theater as a demolition specialist with Company A of the 251st Engineer Combat Battalion.
Upon return from WWII, Frank attended Suffolk University graduatiing in 1950. He also attended Shrivingham University in England.
In 1951 Frank established the Boland Law Office. He retired only a few years ago. Frank served on several boards in the area including, a Corporator and Trustee at Washington Savings Bank for more than 30 years. He was also a communicant of St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Surviving him besides his wife Georgette are several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William, Raymond, Donald Boland, Blanche Krawczyk, and Rita Boland.
