Lowell – Francis R. “Frank” Bettencourt, beloved husband of the late Louella (Richards) Bettencourt, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Thursday March 31, 2011 at the Saints Medical Center with his loving family at his side. He was 84.
Frank was born in Dracut on December 19, 1926 a son of the late Manuel and Emily (Sebastian) Bettencourt.
Frank Served in the Army during WWII. He retired from the City of Lowell where he was employed as a custodian.
Frank was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church and more recently a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
He was a proud member of the Grampa Club.
Survivors include his four children, Donna Marie Welch and her husband Skip of Lowell, Speedy Bettencourt and his wife Phyllis of Dracut, Mark Bettencourt of Hopkinton, Robin Proulx of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Kelley, Michaela, Nathan, Joshua, Lindsey, Christina, Tia, and Matthew; six great grandchildren, Riley, Felicia, Lucas, Chistian, Jonah, Cadence; many extended grandchildren and great grandchildren in his “Grampa Club”.; three sisters in law, Pearl, Theresa, and Marie Richards; dear friends Roland Belleville, and Patricia Cawley; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel, Anthony, Joseph Bettencourt, Mary Louriero, Isabelle Lombardi, and Delia Louriero.
