Fleurette M. (Lavallee) Moustafa, 99, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away on July 28, 2025 at D’youville Senior Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Azem “Jay” A. Moustafa, until his passing in 2004.
Born in Lowell on January 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Philippe and Amanda (Deschenes) Lavallee. Prior to becoming a mother and dedicating her life to raising her children, Fleurette worked as a linotype operator for Courier Citizen, in which she took great pride in.
Fleurette loved bingo, an occasional trip to the casino and especially her time spent with her grandchildren and always “the baby,” Hailey.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Lisa Dery and her husband, Richard of Tyngsboro and John Moustafa and his wife, Lynn of Brookline, NH; her four grandchildren, Stephen Dery and his wife, Samantha, Melissa Dery and her significant other, Donald Theroux III, Nicole Porter and her husband Ralph and Danielle Moustafa and her fiancé, Brendon Metcalf; her great-granddaughter, Hailey; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Fleurette is predeceased by all eleven of her siblings.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at D’Youville Senior Care for their outstanding care of Fleurette in her short stay there.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fleurette’s Life Celebration on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 9 until 10:15 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM in the St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fleurette’s memory to a charity of your choice.
